We stayed at Umndeni with a group of eight friends for a week in March and had the most amazing experience. There were so many activities to enjoy, from horse riding, bush walks, Big Five safari drives and quad biking to swimming, games and orienteering. The managers and guides looked after us so well and tailored the itinerary around our group. The food was fantastic, with beautiful locally sourced meals every day, and the lodge itself is tastefully decorated with private, comfortable rooms. It is perfect for couples, families or groups of friends. We couldn’t recommend it more and can’t wait to come back.

Umndeni is an enchanting little gem just two hours from Johannesburg. You have the whole place to yourself and are looked after by a genuinely lovely team who make you feel completely at home. There is plenty to do, or you can simply sit with a book while impala or giraffe wander past. With no rigid schedule, you can shape each day exactly as you like. It is peaceful, beautiful and full of wildlife, and I cannot recommend it more for anyone needing to get away from everything.
